Q: Can I pay my Scranton Sewer Authority bill online?

A: Currently you cannot pay your Scranton Sewer Authority bill online. The Authority Staff is researching different ways for this to be done though. This service should be available in the near future.

Q: Who is responsible for repairing basins?

A: The Scranton Sewer Authority is currently in agreement to clean the basins for the City of Scranton and the Borough of Dunmore. Any repairs needed outside of cleaning the basins should be directed to that City or Borough DPW.

Q: I need to get a basin cleaned. Who do I contact?

A: All calls regarding the cleaning of basins should be directed to 570-348-5357.

Q: If my sewer were to block what is the Sewer Authority’s responsibility.

A: The Sewer Authority is only responsible for the sewer main and the sewer connection to the curb. The Sewer Authority is not responsible for anything on private property, nor will the Authority enter private property with any equipment unless directed to do so by a government agency in the event of an emergency.

Q: I bought sewer line insurance. Who do I contact if I need a repair?

A: The Scranton Sewer does not offer sewer line insurance. The sewer line insurance that was offered in the Scranton Sewer Authority area was offered by Pennsylvania American Water Services. For any needed repairs contact Pennsylvania American Water Services.
